MSU HealthTeam would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest faculty member, Dr. Christopher Cooper. After earning his medical degree at Wayne State University, Dr. Cooper was a resident at MetroHealth Medical Center’s combined Pediatric and Internal Medicine Residency Program. He then went on to earn his Fellowship in Infectious Disease at Wayne State University.

Dr. Cooper has completed research and poster presentations that look at preventing or managing infection in long-term care facilities, such as Norovirus outbreak, antimicrobial prescribing practices on urinary resistance, and the impact of Vascular Access Management bundled approach to reduce central line-associated blood stream infection rates in adults and neonates.

Dr. Cooper joins our multi-specialty group as a board-certified Infectious Disease specialist. He is adding to our complement of 260 providers performing cutting-edge research, teaching medical and nursing students, and providing exceptional care to the Greater Lansing community.
